Mindful Listening

This is an accessible 5 week series to experience the essentials of mindfulness through sound. Students will learn practical tools to increase feelings of connection, wellbeing, focus, and creativity in their daily lives.

You will learn sound as an anchor, sound and the body, sound and emotion, sound outside and sounds and thinking. Some classes will include an experiential sound bath.

Location and Time: This class will meet in the Fishbowl in the University Religious Center.

Teacher: Lulu Biazus has been sharing meditation sound baths since 2015, with a group she co-founded in Los Angeles called Forestkind. She is a graduate of InsightLA’s Mindfulness Facilitator Training program and currently leads mindfulness meditation under her own practice, Little Mountain, which focuses on mindfulness, sound and art. After graduating from Central St. Martins and working as a fashion art director for over a decade, she deepened her practice and became interested in bringing together mindfulness and sound to increase feelings of wellbeing and connection. She has provided sound baths at various venues, including the LA Design Festival, InsightLA, Poketo, Mercado Sagrado, Art Basel Miami, Noh Wave, The Fullest, Workspace Oasis, and Show & Tell. She is also involved with the Prison + Yoga Meditation program, which shares mindfulness with the incarcerated population of Southern California.
