Mindful Self-Compassion for Community Building Workshop – Virtual
This 2-hour virtual workshop focuses on cultivating self-compassion in community. Together, we will deepen our capacity to meet our individual and collective experience with awareness, compassion, and resilience, as well as strengthen our sense of common humanity and beloved community.
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) combines the skills of mindfulness and self-compassion to provide a powerful tool for emotional resilience. Research has shown that self-compassion greatly boosts emotional well-being and happiness and reduces anxiety and depression.
In this experiential group-learning workshop environment, we will engage in meditation, reflective exercises, and interactive discussions in both large and small groups, with exploration of daily life experience and practice. We seek to create a safe refuge, where participants can contemplate, share authentically, listen deeply, and compassionately receive each other and our whole selves. Practicing compassion in community this way can powerfully insulate us from a sense of separation and help heal grief.
“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
