**This is a Zoom class that takes place Tuesdays from 5-6 pm**

For all who teach anything at USC, at any level. We will learn and practice contemplative and meditative modalities of teaching and learning, based on best practices from the Association for Contemplative Mind in Higher Education.

Rev. Jim Burklo is retiring as Senior Associate Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life at USC, and founded the Contemplative Pedagogy Faculty Interest Group at USC. He was a co-founder of Mindful.USC.edu and has taught Mindfulness Lab courses since its beginning. He taught public policy at the USC School of Social Work for a decade.

 

Teacher bio:

Rev. Jim Burklo is the retired Senior Associate Dean of Religious and Spiritual Life at USC, and founded the Contemplative Pedagogy Faculty Interest Group at USC.  He has practiced and taught mindfulness meditation for over 40 years. He was a co-founder of Mindful USC and has taught Mindfulness Lab courses since its beginning.  He taught public policy at the USC School of Social Work for a decade.  An ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ, he is the author of seven published books on progressive Christianity. His weekly blog on spirituality, “Musings,” has a global readership. He is the Executive Director of ProgressiveChristiansUniting.org and is an honorary advisor and frequent content contributor for ProgressiveChristianity.org.
