Mindfulness and Engaged Conversations
As our Marshall community continues to build and sustain an inclusive culture, the Marshall Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion have embarked upon a series of “Community Conversations” designed to foster community engagement and a sense of belonging through authentic discussions about the role and importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion at Marshall, in business, and in our broader world. With the success of our first Mindfulness offering this summer, we are offering another five-week series at City Center, downtown.
In this 5-week class you will learn the practice of mindfulness and better understand what gets in the way of having engaged conversations with a wide diversity of people. The class will include one hour of instruction each week, in class discussion, a daily practice and journaling of experiences during the week.
By the end of the class you will have skills to lower your stress, anxiety and other difficult emotions, skills on how to deal with difficult thinking and an improved ability to appreciate and have engaged conversations with a wide variety of other people.
