Mindful (and Heartful!) Parenting

Date/Time
Date(s): Oct. 21 - Nov. 11
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (Thursdays)

Mindful (and Heartful!) Parenting

In this practical and fun class, we will be exploring mindfulness, compassion, and self-compassion practices (along with some tried-and-true parenting guides, your own inner resources, and the shared wisdom of the group) to help you stay present, kind, and connected while parenting, even under challenging circumstances.  You’ll find some practices that “work for you” to create some additional balance, ease, and joy as you navigate all the ups and downs that come with being a parent.  This class will be a mix of meditations, discussions, and experiential learning.  No prior meditation experience is necessary!

Day and Time:  Thursdays at noon for 4 weeks.

Connection Information:  You will get connection information from the teacher prior to the first class.

Teacher: Angelike Dexter shares mindfulness and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) tools with students of all ages in the Los Angeles area. Part of Susan Kaiser Greenland’s (author of “The Mindful Child” and “Mindful Games”) Inner Kids-trained teacher group since 2013, Angelike teaches mindful awareness to children, parents, teachers, and families in a variety of settings, including public and private schools, camps, and community organizations, as well as on an individual basis.  Angelike is also a certified MSC teacher (initially trained in 2015) and a graduate of the inaugural MSC for teens, “Making Friends With Yourself (MFY),” teacher training in 2016, and regularly teaches series of and skills from both courses, including through the Center for MSC’s Circles of Practice, Mindful USC, and at Insight LA, where she is also the co-facilitator of the Mindful Parents Sitting Group and teaches a weekly drop-in group focused on Training in Compassion and Resilience.
