LIFE IS A WILD RIDE!

Want to be able to handle difficult situations with less stress, pain and anxiety?

Want to be as kind to yourself as you are to dear friends who face disappointment, fear, and conflict?

Join a limited number (30) of students, staff and faculty for classes on:

MINDFUL SELF COMPASSION

MSC is an 8 week course with a half-day retreat, that teaches you how to:

• DECREASE anxiety

• DECREASE depression and stress

• INCREASE relationship satisfaction

• INCREASE healthy habits like diet and exercise

• INCREASE emotional wellbeing

MSC, a researched-based program, is an adventure and an experiment in self-discovery and self-transformation. You will learn over 25 simple ways that will enable you to call on your own inner resources to soothe yourself in times of stress or pain.

MEETING ON THURSDAYS, September 15-November 3 from 12:00-2:30pm
Room 203, in the University Religious Center building on the east side of campus.

Plus a silent half day retreat which will be explained on the first day of class.

Teachers:

Heidi Shaw

Heidi Shaw is a long time meditator and psychotherapist in Los Angeles. She graduated from USC’s School of Social Work in 1999 and is a proud Trojan. She has been trained in Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) by the developers of the program, Kristin Neff and Chris Germer, and has been teaching this course as a part of Mindful USC.

Angelike Dexter

Angelike Dexter is a committed mindful awareness practitioner and former attorney. Because her own life has been deeply changed by the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) course, Angelike is honored to have been trained in teaching MSC and to share the MSC curriculum with others. Additionally, Angelike currently teaches mindfulness and compassion to children, parents and families in the greater L.A. area.
