Date/Time
Date(s): Feb. 1 - Mar. 8
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (Wednesdays)
**This is a Zoom class that takes place Wednesdays from 12 pm to 1 pm**
This series introduces mindfulness training for anyone who wants to change their relationship with food and cravings. It’s also an invitation to foster greater present moment awareness in everyday life through the lens of mindful eating. It’s not about losing weight, instead this program teaches ways to enhance awareness to feel natural signals of when you are hungry, when full, or when you are just emotionally craving. The training will demonstrate the science behind how we form various eating and consuming habits along with experiential exercises that can help to identify stress and emotional eating patterns, reduce cravings, and fade unwanted habits while building sustainable healthy ones.
We will also explore everyday struggles with other unwanted consuming habits –like gorging on social media, consuming news, feeding worry thinking, smoking, or other activities that are driven by our craving minds. Topics will include:
Overview of Mindfulness and Meditation Practices
Overview of the Habit Loop and Reward Based Learning
Enhancing Mind / Body Connections
The Why What and How of Eating and Consuming
Understanding the influence of Stress and Anxiety
Social Connection and Group Support
This course is appropriate for beginners and anyone who would like to develop the habit of a daily mindfulness practice. Class sessions will include experiential exercises, mindful movement, meditation, community support, and time for your questions.
