Mindfulness as Spiritual Path – Virtual
In this newly restructured, ongoing weekly series, mindfulness is offered as a steady anchor for enriching your current spiritual path—or for exploring and shaping a path of your own. Together, we’ll engage a variety of perspectives, practices, and techniques that unfold and deepen over time. Sessions meet weekly throughout the Spring semester.
Mindfulness is often described, practiced and taught as a set of cognitive skills to reduce stress. However, it can also be experienced as a spiritual path in and of itself, or integrated into other spiritual traditions. In this ongoing Spring series, participants will have the opportunity to expand their understanding of mindfulness and consider its place in their own spiritual lives and paths. We will explore what it means to create a mindfulness practice that consists of more than “just meditating,” as well as design specific practices of our own that express and meet our personal spiritual needs. Each class will include teachings, guided meditation practice, and opportunity for discussion in supportive community.
